Our little story...
On December 25, there was a wind to dehorn the oxen. We were quite hesitant to continue our walk to the Traligill Caves, as we had to bend over to counter the wind. On the way, we saw an oak tree of a small shepherd's house fly away, while the jail roof of a sheep hut almost came off. A bright sun accompanied us, with an almost entirely blue sky. That doesn't mean we were hot. The path was not really steep, so we continued. Traligill Caves are cave like holes in the ground, carved out by an underground river, which bears the same name. As much as speaking outside was difficult to hear because of the wind, when approaching the caves, it was necessary to abandon all hope of conversation as the river was powerful in places. And for good reason, one of the cavities is named Uamh an Tartair, the cave of the roar. The view of Traligill Glen and, further on, Loch Assynt was well worth it.
