Our little story...
We went to see Loch Doon Castle on October 24th. The ruins of this castle have the particularity of having been moved. Yes, because visiting a castle on an island in the middle of a loch is not very practical, and that is understandable. In 1935, it was deconstructed stone by stone and rebuilt identically on a bank of Loch Doon. Construction on its original site is estimated to have taken place in the late 13th century, and is believed to have been led by either Robert Bruce or his father. After admiring these beautiful ruins, we ventured on a path which took a little height. Finally we quickly realized that the path went up much higher than expected, but we decided to follow it. With our backs to Loch Doon, we climbed up the path of the Craiglea Trail. At the top, an incredible wind awaited us, as well as a magnificent view of the loch.
