Inverlochy Castle

Our little story...

Initially, on December 31st we had planned a hike to Ben Nevis, but the weather and its persistent rain decided otherwise. So we went for a trip to yet another castle (you can never have enough): Inverlochy Castle. This ruined castle dates from the 13th century and is named Caisteal Inbhir Lòchaidh in Gaelic. We also strolled through a beautiful roadside cemetery. All grass, with relief, scattered tombstones and wrought iron barriers. All decorated with the small droppings of the sheep which grazed there peacefully.
