Our little story...
We saw Ardvreck Castle twice. The first, on November 20, we were unable to access the ruins due to a particularly impressive flood. That day, we drove through a good twenty centimeters of water on the road. Our second excursion to Ardvreck Castle took place on December 24th. Everything was there. Loch Assynt, the raking light of a long sunset, the thick clouds revealing the blue sky and swallowing the summits of the surrounding mountains. And the ruined castle. Only the icy December wind kept us from settling permanently in this setting.
